Fly Louie is an early stage, tech-enabled start-up based in New York City with rapid market adoption. The company is making waves in private aviation by helping charter operators - 90% of whom are small to mid-sized businesses - compete at scale.

The Alliance launched in 2019 with 20 Preferred FBO partners and 10 Part 135 charter operators. Operators experience scale benefits while maintaining their independence. Benefits include cost savings, new revenue opportunities, and other features normally restricted to the larger private aviation players. Five years later, the Alliance now includes more than 350 member operators, accounting for over 3,500 aircraft, with more joining each month.In five years. Over those 5 years, Fly Louie has sold $150 million worth of fuel on behalf of its FBO partners and nearly $100 million of charter on behalf of its operators

Ryan was Fly Louie's first hire as employee #1 joining in 2018. In December 2024, Stellar, a Magellan Jets portfolio company, acquired Fly Louie.

We supported a lower middle market private equity firm in evaluating and acquiring two companies in the private aviation sector—one focused on charter and maintenance services, the other an MRO provider. Our work included commercial and operational diligence, fleet and financial analysis, and integration planning. Through our guidance, the client gained clarity on strategic fit, operational upside, and integration risks. This engagement highlights our ability to navigate complex, asset-heavy sectors and deliver actionable insights that drive confident investment decisions.

We advised a blank check company seeking to acquire a high-performing FBO/MRO business that met strict criteria around EBITDA margin, geographic location, and scalability. Our team led a targeted search and screening process, evaluating over a dozen operators and narrowing the field based on financial performance, infrastructure quality, and customer concentration. We conducted deep operational diligence on shortlisted targets and provided a clear comparative framework to support the client’s investment thesis. Our analysis gave the client the clarity needed to pursue a qualified target and move forward with a high-conviction deal process.

We worked with an IoT startup developing remote-controlled devices designed for high-reliability monitoring and control in challenging environments. The client sought to scale beyond its initial use cases by entering multiple verticals, including private aviation, agriculture, and mobile video infrastructure.Our work centered on identifying the most viable market entry points, addressing technical standards, regulatory considerations, and buyer behavior in each target vertical. We delivered tailored go-to-market strategies and a prioritization framework based on market size, adoption speed, and ecosystem alignment.
